Security and Privacy Project: Variations Workgroup
The Variations Workgroup consists of 18-21 privacy and security experts representing the broad range of people and organizations that will be affected by the implementation of electronic health information exchange throughout the health care system. The Variations Workgroup will assess variations in organization-level business policies and practices that affect health information exchange.
During a series of intensive meetings, Variations Workgroup members will analyze scenarios to help document commonalities of and variations in current business policies and practices. They will identify possible barriers to electronic health information exchange and refer them to the Legal Workgroup for analysis. Variations Workgroup members will collaborate with Legal Workgroup members to create a Variations Assessment Report.
